CCC 2010 ROOKIE PROGRAM The CCC Rookie Program will be held again this year during the months of Feb., Mar., and Apr. All Members are welcome to attend. Non members are welcome as well, but there will be a $5.00 fee to cover printing cost of the various handouts. (If a non member decides to join the club, the $5.00 will be applied to the membership fee.) Part 1 is recommended for all new club members or people considering joining the club.

Parts 2 & 3 are recommended for those who need help with basic camera functions and basic computer skills as related to photography. We hope to help make your CCC experience enjoyable and educational. Part 1 - February 8th and 22nd, at the First Presbyterian Church, 6 to 7 p.m. Session 1... A review of the clubs Contest, Critiques, Educational Programs, Various Events, our Website, and a question and answer session. Session 2... How to judge your own and others photographs, & the art of critiquing photographs, and a question and answer session. Part 2 - March 8th and 22nd, at the First Presbyterian Church, 6 to 7 p.m. Session 1... (Bring your camera and instruction manual.) Understanding camera basics; camera types, lens selection, mega pixels, shooting modes, the exposure triangle (aperture (AV, TV. ISO and how they relate to one another), use of the histogram, and white balance. Session 2... (Bring your camera and instruction manual. ) Camera basics including: exposure, light meters, histograms, grey cards, quality of light, composition, tricks of the trade, tips on taking better photographs. (This year we will be breaking up into smaller groups for the question and answer sessions.) Part 3 - April 12th and 26th, at the First Presbyterian Church, 6 to 7 p.m. Session 1... Computer basics related to photography and CCC including: the basics of managing your images and manipulating images including cropping, sharpening, and adjusting color and brightness). Session 2... Basics with regard to printing images, attaching images to email, and downsizing and sending digital images for critiques and contests. Part 4 - May (Date to be announced.) We will follow up with a combination Fieldtrip/Workshop at Johnson’s Nursery early in the month , where members will work with you on close up and macro flower photography.
