Club members are invited to gather to view and/or photograph the solar eclipse on August 21, 2017. Details on the place and time are on the members’ site under Events.
While the total eclipse only lasts for roughly 2 1/2 minutes, the entire event from start to finish will last approximately 3 hours. Therefore, members are invited to gather for the entire time. There will be a good view, unobstructed by trees and/or tall buildings. And food — after all, it will be lunch time! We will fire up the grill, the club will provide hot dogs and buns, and you can bring your own drinks. And ICE.
Bring your cameras, tripods and solar filters. It is strongly suggested that you review Roland Pearson’s Power Point presentation for information before this event. Most members received this presentation via email, but for those who did not receive it, please contact Roland.
I have a Sony 35mm digital camera would like to know where to buy a filter to photograph the solar eclipse.
